ABOUT
The Textile Summer School residency program, designed for visual artists and designers, offers an immersive experience in textile practices, combining intensive learning with the encouragement of creativity, collaboration, and skill development. Participants work alongside a diverse group of artists while exploring the Alentejo region and its rich textile heritage.

PROGRAM
The program includes workshops in Embroidery, Natural Dyeing, and Weaving/Tapestry, each lasting five days. The residency also offers project mentoring, study visits, dedicated time and space for individual work, and an open studio at the end of the residency.

WHEN & WHERE?
The residency takes place from July 6 to 29, 2026, at Córtex Frontal, Arraiolos, Portugal.

CONDITIONS
The participation cost is €1,250 and includes:
-Accommodation in a private bedroom at the Córtex Frontal house;
-Access to shared areas (equipped kitchen, dining, living rooms, terrace, patio, and garden);
-Studio space;
-Participation in the whole program;
-Materials for the workshops.

GRANTS
Two full scholarships are available for artists/designers under 30, residing in Portugal. Deadline for these grants is 30th March 2026.
