Nesta oficina exploramos o vermelho carmim e uma paleta de tons através da tinturaria natural com cochonilha e tinturaria sintética em fios e tecidos. Os participantes aprendem os princípios de preparação, mordentagem, modificação da cor e finalização do tingimento, criando amostras e adquirindo conhecimentos aplicáveis a outros pigmentos e materiais naturais.

In this workshop, participants will explore the carmine red color palette through natural dyeing with cochineal and synthetic dyeing on yarns and fabrics. They will learn the basics of preparation, mordanting, color modification, and finishing techniques, while creating samples and gaining knowledge applicable to other natural pigments and materials.

CLÁUDIA MOREIRA

Cláudia Moreira é a criadora e maker da Tanta Design, marca dedicada ao design e produção de fios, objetos e acessórios têxteis. A tinturaria natural e sintética, fiação, tecelagem e as técnicas de feltragem manual são a base para a exploração e manipulação das fibras têxteis.
Nos últimos anos, aprofundou o conhecimento sobre todo o processo de preparação da lã, desde a lavagem, cardação, fiação e tingimento e explora o uso da lã Churra Algarvia e de lã descartada em peças utilitárias e arte têxtil.

Cláudia Moreira is the creator and maker behind Tanta Design, a brand dedicated to the design and production of textile yarns, objects, and accessories. Natural and synthetic dyeing, spinning, weaving, and hand-felting techniques form the foundation of her practice, focused on the exploration and manipulation of textile fibres.
In recent years, she has deepened her knowledge of the entire wool preparation process — from washing and carding to spinning and dyeing — exploring the use of Churra Algarvia wool and discarded wool in the creation of utilitarian pieces and textile art.
