Nesta oficina vamos aprender todo o processo de criação de um tapete tufted em técnica cut pile: desde a utilização da pistola de tufting e a escolha ou criação do desenho, até à tufagem, aplicação de látex e preparação final da peça.

In this workshop we will learn the entire process of creating a tufted rug using the cut-pile technique: from using the tufting gun and choosing or creating a design, to tufting, latex application, and final finishing of the piece.

FRANCISCO COUTO
Francisco Couto é um artista visual que trabalha entre o desenho e o têxtil, com foco na tapeçaria através da técnica contemporânea de tufting. O seu trabalho parte do desenho intuitivo e do interesse pela cor, pela perceção e pela transformação da imagem em objeto têxtil.
Viveu e trabalhou em diferentes contextos na Europa, experiências que influenciam tanto a sua prática artística como a sua abordagem pedagógica. Atualmente vive e trabalha em Lisboa, onde desenvolve projetos autorais e partilha a sua prática através de oficinas de tufting, já realizadas em várias cidades europeias.

Francisco Couto is a visual artist working between drawing and textiles, with a focus on tapestry through the contemporary tufting technique. His work is rooted in intuitive drawing and an interest in color, perception, and the transformation of images into textile objects.
He has lived and worked in different contexts across Europe, experiences that influence both his artistic practice and his pedagogical approach. He currently lives and works in Lisbon, where he develops authorial projects and shares his practice through tufting workshops held in various European cities.
