oficina TECELAGEM PAPEL

Nesta oficina, os participantes exploram a tecelagem através do papel, experimentando padrões, cores e composições inspiradas na tradição têxtil portuguesa. A partir da observação de diferentes estruturas de tecido e do entendimento do entrelaçamento entre teia e trama, irão reproduzir e reinterpretar padrões em maior escala com tiras de cartolina.

Através de uma abordagem prática, manual e lúdica, cada participante cria uma peça única, compreendendo os princípios do debuxo têxtil e explorando possibilidades criativas contemporâneas. No final, as tecelagens poderão transformar-se em objetos decorativos ou pequenas obras de arte.

In this workshop, participants explore weaving through paper, experimenting with patterns, colours, and compositions inspired by Portuguese textile traditions. By observing different fabric structures and understanding the interlacing of warp and weft, they reproduce and reinterpret patterns at a larger scale using strips of cardboard.

Through a hands-on, manual and playful approach, each participant creates a unique piece, gaining insight into the principles of textile weave design and exploring contemporary creative possibilities. At the end, the paper weavings may be transformed into decorative objects or small works of art.

ISABEL GUIMARÃES

Isabel Guimarães nasceu em 1976. Licenciou-se em Artes Plásticas – Escultura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, onde também frequentou o Mestrado de Pintura. Concluiu o curso de Design Têxtil no Citex em 1997 e desde então tem realizado várias formações nas áreas do design têxtil e moda.
Em 2007 constituiu a empresa Around Design Unipessoal Lda, trabalhando em design têxtil, papel e cerâmica para clientes nacionais e internacionais.
Acumula a atividade de designer com a de formadora certificada, lecionando desde 2006 no Modatex (antigo Citex), Gudi e Escola de Moda do Porto. Realiza também workshops em museus e espaços culturais como o Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis, Museu da Misericórdia do Porto e Museu do Oriente.
Participou em diversas exposições, incluindo a Bienal Contextile, e recebeu o 1.º prémio no concurso de Design Têxtil do Citeve. Em 1996, o seu projeto de estamparia foi selecionado para exposição no Japão pela Japan Designers Association.

Isabel Guimarães was born in 1976. She graduated in Fine Arts – Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, where she also attended a Master’s degree in Painting. She completed the Textile Design course at Citex in 1997 and has since undertaken further training in textile design and fashion. In 2007, she founded Around Design Unipessoal Lda, working in textile design, paper, and ceramics for national and international clients.
She combines her work as a designer with teaching, working as a certified trainer since 2006 at Modatex (formerly Citex), Gudi, and the Porto School of Fashion. She also leads workshops in museums and cultural spaces such as the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis, the Museu da Misericórdia do Porto, and the Museu do Oriente.
She has participated in several exhibitions, including the Contextile Biennial, received 1st prize in the Citeve Textile Design competition, and in 1996 her print project was selected for exhibition in Japan by the Japan Designers Association.
