Nesta oficina, faremos uma introdução prática à Jesmonite, uma resina ecológica e não tóxica de rápida secagem. A partir de moldes simples em argila, cada participante experimentará a criação de pequenas placas com motivos em relevo, explorando formas, texturas, pigmentação, mistura e diferentes acabamentos.

In this workshop, participants will receive a practical introduction to Jesmonite, an eco-friendly, non-toxic, fast-setting resin. Using simple clay moulds, each participant will experiment with creating small relief tiles, exploring shapes, textures, pigmentation, mixing techniques, and different finishes.

HUGO BRAZÃO

Hugo Brazão (Madeira, 1989) é um artista português que vive e trabalha em Lisboa. A sua prática abrange pintura, escultura e têxtil e parte do paradoxo entre ficção e realidade, explorando materiais encontrados, as suas possibilidades técnicas e as narrativas que podem gerar.

É licenciado em Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa e concluiu, com distinção, o MA em Fine Art na Central Saint Martins, em Londres, em 2015. Foi vencedor do VIA Arts Prize (2018) e recebeu o Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award (2015).

Tem apresentado exposições individuais e coletivas em Portugal, Reino Unido, Espanha, Itália e Coreia do Sul, incluindo exposições na Balcony Gallery (Lisboa), Voda Gallery (Seul) e Casa A. Molder (Lisboa). O seu trabalho integra coleções públicas e privadas.

Hugo Brazão (Madeira, 1989) is a Portuguese artist based in Lisbon. His practice encompasses painting, sculpture and textiles, exploring the tension between fiction and reality through found materials, their technical possibilities and the narratives they can generate.

He holds a BA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, London, which he completed with distinction in 2015. He was the recipient of the VIA Arts Prize in 2018 and the Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award in 2015.

His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Portugal, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and South Korea, and is held in public and private collections.

His practice has also explored Jesmonite, notably in Best Foot Backwards (2019), a work combining Jesmonite, water-based pigments, wood and sand.
