Nesta oficina vamos criar livros de artista a partir de um processo experimental e intuitivo. Começaremos por escolher formatos, papéis e materiais reutilizados como jornais, tecidos ou fotografias. Cada participante poderá definir um tema ou cinco palavras-chave pessoais como ponto de partida.
A partir daí, vamos construir a estrutura do livro — formato, páginas e costura manual — explorando a relação entre conteúdo e forma desde o início do processo criativo.

In this workshop, we will create artist books through an experimental and intuitive process. We'll begin by selecting formats, papers, and reused materials such as newspapers, fabrics, or photographs. Each participant may choose a theme or five personal keywords as a starting point.
From there, we'll build the book’s structure — format, pages, and hand-stitching — exploring the relationship between content and form from the very beginning of the creative process.

MAREIKE ALEXANDER
Residente em Hamburgo, Alemanha, Mareike trabalha como figurinista, costureira, docente e artista têxtil. Desenvolve o seu trabalho em departamentos de figurinos de vários teatros — incluindo ópera, teatro, dança, musical — bem como em produções de curta-metragens e no seu ateliê coletivo. Seja a criar colagens em papel ou têxtil, seja a compor figurinos, valoriza uma abordagem sustentável: reutiliza materiais, deconstrói, altera o contexto e, assim, mantém vivas as histórias.

Based in Hamburg, Germany, Mareike works as a costume designer, seamstress, lecturer, and textile artist. She develops her practice in the costume departments of various theatres — including opera, drama, dance, and musicals — as well as in short film productions and her communal studio. Whether creating paper or textile collages or designing costumes, she values a sustainable approach: reusing materials, deconstructing, shifting contexts, and keeping stories alive.
